How to cycle from Korcula to Lumbarda
Lumbarda is a charming village to explore with wineries, beaches and waterfront restaurants

Route Overview: From Korcula to Lumbarda by Bike

The route starts from Korcula Town.

First, take the road behind the bus station and follow Setaliste Tina Ujevica. It’s far less steep than the main road that climbs past the Tommy supermarket and a lot more scenic.

You’ll pass through the suburb of Sveti Antun. Just after the Konoba Maslina restaurant, a dedicated cycling path begins. From here, you’ve got a couple of options:

  • Head straight and stick to the main road.
Take a detour to Gornje Blato, where quiet lanes lead through vineyards, olive groves, and the occasional crowing pheasant.

Exploring Lumbarda

Lumbarda is the kind of place that rewards your effort. Once you roll in, you’ve got plenty of ways to unwind:

  • Go wine tasting at local wineries such as Bire, Popić, Sabulum, Vitis or Cipre (and try the native Grk wine!)
  • Spend some time at the beach. Relax at the sandy beaches Bilin Zal or Przina, or the pebble beach at Przi Zal.
  • Enjoy lunch or coffee with a stunning sea view at one of the local restaurants, such as Maestral, Feral, or Amore.

If you’ve got energy left, you can even continue the ride to the lighthouse at Raznjic for an extra scenic detour.

Whether you’re here for a quick swim or a long lunch, Lumbarda makes the perfect destination after your ride.

💡 Note: The incline is more gradual on the way back from Lumbarda.

Our Cycling Tips

To make your cycle ride from Korcula to Lumbarda as enjoyable as possible, here are some of our tips:

  • The dedicated bike lane does not go all the way from Korcula to Lumbarda, so you’ll be sharing the road with cars. Croatian drivers are generally respectful, but stay alert and avoid assumptions about right of way.
  • Remember to pack plenty of water and your swimwear. Also, take some cash, especially if you’re planning on visiting a winery, as the majority do not accept card payments.
  • It can hit over 30°C in July and August. If you’re cycling in Korcula in peak summer: start early or wait until late afternoon, use suncream, wear sunglasses and a hat and bring extra water.
  • Don’t rush it: stop, explore, sip wine and swim in Lumbarda!
  • And remember: the return is slightly more uphill, so save a bit of energy (and water) for the ride home!
