By Air
There is an increasing number of flights operating to Croatia (including many low-cost options). The closest airports to Korcula are Dubrovnik and Split, where you then transfer to the island by public transport.

By Road
The roads throughout Croatia are typically excellent, including the main roads on Korcula. Ensure you purchase an updated map/update your GPS or SatNa,v and check the driving laws in advance.
Some considerations if you are planning on driving. Croatia Driving Travel Advice by UK FCO:-
- Ensure you have a valid driving license, vehicle registration documents, insurance (minimum third party) and a green card.
- Seatbelts must be worn at all times by the occupants in the front and back seats.
- Children under 12 cannot ride in the front passenger seat.
- It is illegal to use your mobile phone when driving.
- Dipped headlights must be on during poor visibility and between October to March; an on-the-spot fine will be imposed for non-compliance.
- Compulsory requirements to store in the car include a warning triangle, a reflective jacket and a first aid kit.
By Boat
There are several ferry crossings from Italy to Dubrovnik or Split; either from Ancona to Split or Bari to Dubrovnik. You can then transfer to Korcula.

How do I get to Korcula Island?
Korcula is easily reached by catamarans and ferries from Split, Dubrovnik, and nearby islands, with frequent daily services in summer. Buses from Dubrovnik and Split connect to Korcula as well.
You can also drive to Korcula by taking a car ferry from Split to Vela Luka or from Orebic to Domince (just 3 km from Korcula Town).

When is the best time to visit Korcula?
The ideal time to visit is between May and September when the weather is warm and the sea is perfect for swimming. July and August are the busiest months; for a more relaxed experience, consider May, June, or September.

Are there ATMs, and can I use a credit card?
ATMs are available in Korcula Town, Vela Luka, and Lumbarda. Use bank-affiliated ATMs and opt to be charged in Euros to avoid high fees. While an increasing number of places accept cards, it’s smart to carry some cash and ask in advance if cash is accepted.
Can I drink the tap water in Korcula?
Yes, tap water is safe and clean, sourced from natural springs. Bottled water is also readily available. Note: at some restaurants they will push you to order bottled water.
