Travel between Split and Korcula [Update 2021]

There are plenty of ways to travel between Split and Korcula. It’s possible to take a day trip from Korcula to Split and a day trip from Split to Korcula. Below you can find information about the main transport options.

How to travel between Korcula and Split

Advice: In the peak season purchase your tickets for boats or buses the day before or the morning before your departure, as there is often long queues and tickets sell-out fairly quickly. Or if possible, buy online in advance of your departure date.

How to travel between Korcula and Split?

Foot passenger Kapetan Luka Catamaran

  • Travels between Split and Korcula Town.
  • Tickets can be purchased online from the Kapetan Luka website. Tickets can be purchased in Korcula Town from the Kapetan Luka Office (Ulica Fosa 1) and in Split from the Kapetan Luka Kiosk at the port.
  • Operating year-round. See timetable

Foot passenger Kapetan Luka Catamaran (three catamaran options)

  • Travels between Split and Korcula Town.
  • Tickets can be purchased online from the Kapetan Luka website. Tickets can be purchased in Korcula Town from the Kapetan Luka Office (Ulica Fosa 1) and in Split from the Kapetan Luka Kiosk at the port.
  • NOTE: The catamaran from Korcula Town typically departs from the east port but you will need to confirm on the day of departure if it will depart from the east or west port (5-minute walk between the ports).

Foot passenger Jadrolinija Catamaran

  • Travels between Split and Korcula Town.
  • Tickets can be purchased online from the Jadrolinija website. Tickets can also be purchased from the Jadrolinija ticket office in Korcula (Plokata 21 Travanja 1921. no.34) and from the Split ticket office.
  • The catamaran will depart either from the west or east port in Korcula Town. Jadrolinija advises you check with the local office 30 minutes before the departure time.

  • Travels between Split and Vela Luka.
  • Tickets can be purchased online from the Jadrolinija website. Tickets can also be purchased from the Jadrolinija ticket office in Korcula (Obala 4 bb ) and from the Split ticket office.
  • There are buses connecting Vela Luka to Korcula Town, taking approximately 1 hour. – 1 hour 15 minutes. For an up to date schedule, see the Arriva website.

Jadrolinija Car Ferry (& passenger)

  • Travels between Split and Vela Luka.
  • Tickets can be purchased online from the Jadrolinija website. Tickets can also be purchased from the Jadrolinija ticket office in Korcula (Obala 4 bb) and from the Split ticket office.
  • Vela Luka is a 45 minute – 1-hour car journey to Korcula Town. There are buses connecting Vela Luka to Korcula Town, taking approximately 1 hour – 1 hour 15 minutes. For an up to date schedule, see the Arriva website.

Daily bus

  • Travels between Split Bus Station and Korcula Bus Station
  • Tickets can be purchased at Split and Korcula Bus Station.

Driving by Car

  • It is possible to take the coastal road or the highway from Split to Orebic. At Orebic you can take the car ferry to Korcula Island.
  • To reduce the amount of driving it is also possible to drive first to Ploce and from there take the car ferry to Trpanj. From Trpanj you must then drive to Orebic and take the car ferry to Korcula Island.
