Hello. I would like to come to Korcula and can’t decide if I should rent a car. I will most likely spend 3 nights and will be flying into Dubrovnik.
Great to hear you’re visiting Croatia this summer. I’d say it depends on what you plan to do on Korcula, and if it will help you transfer between Dubrovnik and Korcula (and any other locations). It also depends on where you are staying – if you’re staying somewhere more remote, a car will be useful, but if you’re staying in Korcula Old Town, parking can be a problem. You can easily reach Korcula without a car, taking the passenger catamaran from Dubrovnik. You don’t need a car on Korcula – you can explore the Old Town and surrounding area on foot, visit Lumbarda by bus or water taxi, and explore the archipelago by water taxi. There are also buses to other main villages and towns. But if you want more flexibility and to be able to explore remote bays or beaches, a car would be useful. You could also rent a car on the island for a day, or rent a scooter or bike to travel around a little more. Hope that helps.
