Enjoy not only a fantastic cycle ride through Korcula’s beautiful countryside but also stop at three local producers where your taste-buds will be treated to some fantastic local products.

We have created this unique combination of tastings with our friends, the producers, to guarantee you an unforgettable time.

“We had THE BEST time on our tour with John! He was accommodating and easy to communicate with. It felt like we were meeting up with a friend that lives in Korcula. We loved riding bikes through the gorgeous scenery and the work we did on the bikes made the food and wine that much better!”

  • A moderately paced cycle ride through wonderful Korcula country trails
  • Opportunity to meet three local producers of Korcula’s finest honey, wine, jams and olive oil
  • Learn how various local products are grown and produced
  • Taste the delicious white wine Grk which is almost exclusively grown in Lumbarda
  • Enjoy delicious food tastings of traditional sweet and savoury snacks

Heading away from Korcula Town towards Lumbarda by bike, our first stop comes after no more than 15 minutes at one of the region’s top honey producers. Here we will learn how honey gets from the beehives to jars, followed by honey tasting.

Back on our bikes, we take to picturesque country trails before finding ourselves at a top Grk producing winery where we will sit down and enjoy several wines, accompanied by delicious, regional snacks.

Our final stop is a short cycle away and takes us to the home and gardens of our friend Ivan and his wife Ana. Here we will see where their fruits are grown before trying their award-winning jam selection, which is truly outstanding, along with homemade liquors, wine, sweet treats and olive oil. We round the taste extravaganza off with some crepe style pancakes filled with jam, before being transferred back to Korcula by van.

August 2021 Via TripAdvisor – Can we give 6 stars – Our bike tour with John was a highlight of our trip in Croatia. Sometimes the tour guide can be the difference between an okay tour and a great memorable tour, John definitely made it the latter.

You can tell this company puts a lot of thought into the stops they coordinate, all with interesting stories and delicious local food and wine.

We can’t wait to tour again with John and would highly recommend this experience to everyone!

July 2021 Via TripAdvisor – Really nice tour on bikes – The tour was really nice, a really small group that permited us to have the time to explore and go at a nice pace. The landscapes are amazing, and also the products we tasted:) John was really friendly and welcoming. That will stay one my highlights in croatia

July 2021 Via TripAdvisor – Great food and wine with even better company – We had THE BEST time on our tour with John! He was accommodating and easy to communicate with. It felt like we were meeting up with a friend that lives in Korčula. We loved riding bikes through the gorgeous scenery and the work we did on the bikes made the food and wine that much better!

I absolutely recommend this your, and plan to book another tour with Korčula Explorer next time we visit the island!

August 2020 Via TripAdvisor – A must do! We thoroughly enjoyed this bike tour, through places we would never have discovered otherwise. John was extremely welcoming and informative in a very relaxed way. Wonderful food and wine with stunning views. It was great to meet more local food and wine producers. The final sunset cycle was definitely a highlight. This is one of the best things we have done in Korčula. Hvala!

October 2019 Via TripAdvisor – I contacted the company the day before wanting to do a bicycle tour. John accommodated myself and 3 other travelers. He took us to see some local farmers and producers of local products as well as a tour of the beautiful countryside. I would highly recommend.

September 2019 Via TripAdvisor – We had an excellent time in this tour with John as our guide. He’s very attentive and well-informed and the stops along the way we’re hosted by super friendly people. The pace is easy and the terrain both accessible and beautiful and we are very glad we spent the afternoon with Korcula Explorer.

Gail September 2019 – Andy and I really enjoyed the tour.  Each of the producers (honey, jams, liqueurs, wine) were delightful to listen to and learn from, and John keep good track of us seniors.

Via TripAdvisor, August 2019 – Very entertaining and insightful view of the coast of Korcula , our guide provided useful commentary of the scenery. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to discover Korcula quickly and easily. Read more.

Via TripAdvisor, August 2019 – John led our family of four on the tasting tour today. It was perfectly paced. The bike ride was fun and we rode along some beautiful trails. We stopped at 3 very different locations to taste food and wine, each with very friendly and interesting hosts. The produce we tasted was amazing. Read more.

Via TripAdvisor, August 2019 – We contacted Korcula Explorer about their Taste of Korcula by bike tour having done a similar tour in Vietnam and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We asked them to put on an additional date since the tour was not available during our short stay in Korcula and they readily obliged. Really flexible and helpful! My advice would be to contact them if the tour you want isn’t shown in their website – this is a great experience not to be missed! Read more

Via TripAdvisor, July 2019 – Really enjoyed discovering Korcula with “off the beaten path” places I would never had found on my own. Rachael was a wonderful guide. It was an especially hot day for our tour and I was concerned that an afternoon tour would be too difficult. There are a few “rolling hills” with multiple stops. Tasting the honey, jellies, liquors and wines was a treat. I would do this tour again Jenna, May 2019 – Just wanted to say another thank you to you and John for organising the most fantastic tour yesterday! We had such a great time and will absolutely recommend Korcula Explorer to any of our friends who are planning a visit to Croatia

How hard is the cycle ride?

We recommend that you have a good level of fitness for the cycle ride. You will cycle around 10kms and this includes some road cycling, several hills and some off-road terrain. Keep in mind as well it gets very hot on Korcula, especially from late June until the end of August and you will be cycling in the sun. We would class the ride as moderate but the hills and heat can be more of a challenge for some people. Although the ride is leisurely, we just want to ensure you will be comfortable to complete the ride.

What should I wear?

We advise that you wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable cycling in.

What should I bring with me?

We suggest that you bring a minimum 1l of water per person for the cycle ride.

Can I buy products from the producers we visit?

Yes you can buy local products at each stop. Please note they do not accept card payments, so ensure you have cash (Kuna) with you if you plan on making a purchase.

Where does the tour start from and where do we meet?

We will meet you in a central meeting point in Korcula Town. We provide a map of where to meet on the Tour Confirmation.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements or food allergies?

Please let us know upon booking if you have any dietary requirements or food allergies. We can usually accommodate all. Please keep in mind the Croatian diet is fairly meat/dairy heavy so alternative options may be more limited.

What is the payment & refund policy?

Full payment is required when booking. Should you need to cancel we will offer a full refund for any cancellations received at least 48 hours before the tour date. You can see full details on our Terms & Conditions page:
