“Thanks to Rachael for a lovely tour of local wineries around Lumbarda. This small group tour was more than just an organised outing, it was a unique chance to experience the true ethos and culture of small local family wine producers through Rachael’s eyes. Her rapport with the local patrons and insights to Korcula life was fantastic. One of the best evenings we had on our trip to Croatia and certainly one to cherish as a memory.

Description
  • Enjoy the beauty of Lumbarda’s countryside with a leisurely stroll around the vineyards whilst learning about the unique characteristics of the local terroir, grapes and heritage of Croatian winemaking.
  • Visit two family-run wineries to learn more about the processes that transform the grapes into the delicious local varietals you will be trying.
  • Delight your taste buds with the distinct flavours of Grk wine, a local speciality cultivated in the vineyards of Lumbarda, as well as the red Plavac Mali.
  • Indulge in the flavours of the region with traditional appetisers served at one of the wineries.

Embark on an exploration of some of the most flavoursome wines the island has to offer on our Korcula Wine Tour. The trip begins with a short transfer to the enchanting village of Lumbarda. Here you’ll be able to visit the vineyards and get an insight into the wine culture whilst absorbing the beauty of the village during a tranquil walk. Depending upon winery availability and the time of year, we vary the walk, but typically it lasts between 15-30 minutes (and is a gentle walk).

You will visit two family-run wineries, and learn what makes Grk wine and Plavac Mali, two unique Croatian varietals, so exceptional, as well as sampling rose and other delicious local tipples. Your tasting experience will be complemented by traditional appetisers such as cheeses, prsut ham and olives or seasonal salad, which are served at one of the wineries.

This is the perfect tour to introduce yourself to Korcula wines and its wine production heritage in relaxed and beautiful surroundings. We hope you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of the island and its grapes!
