Heading away from Korcula Town towards Lumbarda by bike, our first stop comes after no more than 15 minutes at one of the region’s top honey producers. Here we will learn how honey gets from the beehives to jars, followed by honey tasting.
Back on our bikes we take to a picturesque country trail before finding ourselves at a top Grk producing winery where we will sit down and enjoy several wines, accompanied by Dalmatian snacks of ham, cheese and marinated fish.
Our final stop is a short cycle away and takes us to the home and gardens of our friend Ivan and his wife Ana. Here we will see where their fruits are grown before trying their award-winning jam selection, which is truly outstanding, along with homemade liquors, wine, sweet treats and olive oil. We round the taste extravaganza off with some crepe style pancakes filled with jam, before heading back to Korcula. The ride back is through some truly wonderful countryside and will take 30-45 minutes.

We recommend that you have a good level of fitness for the cycle ride. You will cycle around 15kms and this includes some road cycling, several hills and some off road terrain. Keep in mind as well it gets very hot on Korcula, especially from late June until the end of August and you will be cycling in the sun. We would class the ride as moderate but the hills and heat can be more of a challenge for some people. Although the ride is leisurely, we just want to ensure you will be comfortable to complete the ride.
We advise that you wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable cycling in.
We suggest that you bring a minimum 1l of water per person for the cycle ride.
Yes you can buy local products at each stop. Please note they do not accept card payments, so ensure you have cash (Kuna) with you it you plan to buy anything.
We will meet you in a central meeting point in Korcula Town. We provide a map of where to meet on the Tour Confirmation.
Below you can see the dates we will be running all of our tours.

October 2019 Via TripAdvisor – I contacted the company the day before wanting to do a bicycle tour. John accommodated myself and 3 other travelers. He took us to see some local farmers and producers of local products as well as a tour of the beautiful countryside. I would highly recommend.
September 2019 Via TripAdvisor – We had an excellent time in this tour with John as our guide. He’s very attentive and well-informed and the stops along the way we’re hosted by super friendly people. The pace is easy and the terrain both accessible and beautiful and we are very glad we spent the afternoon with Korcula Explorer.
Gail September 2019 – Andy and I really enjoyed the tour. Each of the producers (honey, jams, liqueurs, wine) were delightful to listen to and learn from, and John keep good track of us seniors.
Via TripAdvisor, August 2019 – John led our family of four on the tasting tour today. It was perfectly paced. The bike ride was fun and we rode along some beautiful trails. We stopped at 3 very different locations to taste food and wine, each with very friendly and interesting hosts. The produce we tasted was amazing. Read more.
Via TripAdvisor, August 2019 – We contacted Korcula Explorer about their Taste of Korcula by bike tour having done a similar tour in Vietnam and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We asked them to put on an additional date since the tour was not available during our short stay in Korcula and they readily obliged. Really flexible and helpful! My advice would be to contact them if the tour you want isn’t shown in their website – this is a great experience not to be missed! Read more.
Via TripAdvisor, July 2019 – Really enjoyed discovering Korcula with “off the beaten path” places I would never had found on my own. Rachael was a wonderful guide. It was an especially hot day for our tour and I was concerned that an afternoon tour would be too difficult. There are a few “rolling hills” with multiple stops. Tasting the honey, jellies, liquors and wines was a treat. I would do this tour again
Jenna, May 2019 – Just wanted to say another thank you to you and John for organising the most fantastic tour yesterday! We had such a great time and will absolutely recommend Korcula Explorer to any of our friends who are planning a visit to Croatia
