2023 Korcula Island Highlights in Photos

As we wrap up our incredible summer, here are some highlights in photos of some of the things we got up to this year. Are you planning your epic holiday adventure to Korcula Island for next year?

Events we enjoyed

2023 was a fully packed year with lots of personal fun and island events to enjoy. From fire eating to the Old Town gate aglow in neon lights, 6km runs (with, um, strategic fast walking) while sipping 12 glasses of Grk, dressing up as Christmas elves in summer, and crafting delicious dishes from everyday plants and weeds – so much going all! We also climbed Sveti Ilija for the first time as a family and had a couple of days of wine tasting with friends and family on Korcula and the Peljesac. We just can’t get enough wine!!

Be sure to get your trip to Korcula booked and come and join all the fun in 2024!

Beach life on Korcula

Korcula Island and the nearby Peljesac Peninsula have many incredible beaches. Here’s a highlight of a few new beaches we enjoyed and some firm favourites.

Eating & Drinking on Korcula

Here’s a glimpse of some of the delicious food we enjoyed on Korcula and in Orebic. It seems we ate a lot of food!! We enjoyed visiting some of our favourite places and trying some new ones…we ran out of time to visit everywhere we wanted to, so we’re counting down to 2024 for more epic food adventures!

We’ll add all our restaurant and food recommendations to our Korcula Guide which will be updated for 2024 and ready to purchase via our website soon.

On tour with Korcula Explorer

Here we look back on the amazing tours we led this year. Lots of laughs, lots of wine, gin, rakija shots, cheese, ham, jams, olive oil, pancakes and so much biking (at least for Rachael!). We had a record number of guests from America this year but met people again from around the world.

Massive thanks to everyone who joined us on these memorable journeys!

We’re updating our website with the 2024 tour details and they will be available soon.  If you’re itching to be a part of our adventures next year, send us an email, and we’ll let you know when the details will be available.

Places we visited in Croatia

We took a couple of international trips to Slovenia for New Year and back to the UK to catch up with friends and family over Easter. We then spent the rest of our holiday time exploring more of Croatia including Postira on Brac, Sibenik and Krk Island! Of course, we spent plenty of time in our ‘neck of the woods’ – Orebic, Split and Dubrovnik

So all in all, a pretty great year…and it’s not even over! We’ll enjoy some winter fun on Korcula Island before heading to the UK for Christmas this year…I have a craving for mince pies and sherry! What will 2024 bring?
