Enjoy a fantastic evening out in the rural village of Zrnovo with the Radovanovic family.
- Experience the rural side of Korcula Island
- Learn about past & present island life and hear stories about the village of Zrnovo with a local
- Have a go rolling the traditional pasta originating from the village (it’s harder than it looks!)
- Enjoy a tasty dinner on the shaded terrace of a family run restaurant
- Sample locally made wine and rakija
After a short 10 minute transfer from Korcula Town to Zrnovo, you will first be given a small demonstration of how to shape the local pasta speciality "makaruni", before having a go yourself. You'll then head out for a walk around the village with the charming father of the family, Frank. Passing vineyards, olive trees and old stone houses, you will learn the history of this Korcula Island village and more about the lives of the people who live and work here. The tour with Frank was nice! We had anticipated learning more about making macaroni, the history, mixing ingredients- not just rolling it. We appreciate you accommodating our last minute request. Thank you!

We’ve just returned from the walking and culinary tour in Zrnovo. We had a fantastic time, the food was great and the tour of the village with Frank was really interesting.

Frank and his family were warm and welcoming. My group and I really enjoyed. There is nothing I would recommend that you do differently. It was easy to find the driver and the timing was perfect for the entire tour.
Thanks again! My great grandparents actually came from Zrnovo and Frank was able to provide some information after we showed him some photos! He truly is a great blend of historian, chef, and wine maker.

We enjoyed the tour and dinner and appreciated that they were able to accommodate us, even with 3 large groups that night. The food was delicious and more than generous portions. We were checked on frequently and even provided with insect repellant and a sample of the tomatoes that were growing right next to our table! The mosquitoes were out in force that night. My only recommendations - be prepared for biting insects and come with a healthy appetite.

he tour was lovely. We enjoyed hearing stories from a local about emigration, the challenges of passing on homes to multiple offspring, the local customs, etc. The food was also delicious ( though we didn’t come close to finishing it -the portions were so big!). A lot of Frank’s stories were lost on our kids, but I don’t think they cared. The staff at the restaurant were very hospitable.

Thank you Rachael! We had a wonderful evening and learnt so much from Frank on the village walk. The grappa, the wines and the food were excellent and we truly enjoyed the ambience.
We thought the Korcula experience with Frank will be one of our most memorable in Croatia. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the walk but Lyall loved it and I did enjoy a couple of wines waiting. The meal was great and the personal touch from Frank's son. They must get many other people doing what we did but we didn't feel that they were bored with the whole thing and seemed to love sharing it all with us.
Korcula is definitely on our "will return" list sometime in the future.
